It was time for our boardwalk to get a refresh. In the past few years, there were a few rotten boards and it needed some repair and then the floods of 2019 came. Last year seems a long time ago, but the river covered most of the boardwalk and washed out part of it.
Evergy (formerly Westar) had donated treated wood and poles to us originally and they came through again with a nice donation. Due to COVID-19, we couldn’t have very many people work on it, so we had small groups work on it. It took a little longer, but got it done.
It is so fun. I had to ride it twice. There is a ride around if you don’t want to ride it, but it is banked so that you won’t slide off.
