Description: If you’re looking for a real skill challenge, check out the new skills features built out at Clinton lake. There are obstacles for all skill levels, including bridges, ramps, teeter-totters and balancing boards. Built in coordination with the Kansas Trails Council, the LMBC is proud to offer this unique skills loop for anyone who wants a real biking challenge. Use at your own discretion and risk. Always wear a helmet.
Location: The entrance to Clinton Lake State Park is at the end of Clinton parkway, just north of the Clinton Lake Dam on East 900 Road. Check Google Maps for interactive driving directions.
Directions: From Lawrence, head west on Clinton Parkway. At the end of Clinton Parkway, pass under the South Lawrence Trafficway, and turn right (north) at the T-intersection with Douglas County Road 920. Take the second left into the park. Follow the access road west to the toll booth (you must pay the park fee if you drive in). Follow the main park road towards camp area 3. Continue past the camp area, and as the road turns left (south) towards the lake, look for access to the skills loop on the right side of the road, just in the trees.
